The Delhi High Court has ruled that Aadhar card can be used as proof of age for Rule 7 of the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Rules. It can also be used as proof of identity, date of birth, and address, but not as proof of citizenship.
Regarding Aadhaar-PAN linking, payments made through e-Pay Tax functionality or Protean (NSDL) with Minor head 500 for an amount of Rs500/- till 30th June, 2022 and Rs1000 from 1st July 2022 to 31st March, 2023 in a single challan will be considered valid.

“The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issued a circular in March 2022 stating that all existing investors must link their PAN with their Aadhaar before March 31, 2023. Failure to do so may result in their accounts being considered non-KYC compliant, potentially leading to restrictions on securities and other transactions.
To avoid consequences of non-compliance with the March 30, 2022, CBDT circular, payments made through e-Pay Tax functionality or through Protean (NSDL) with Minor head 500 for an amount of Rs500/- till 30th June,2022 and Rs1000 from 1st July 2022 to 31st March, 2023 in a single challan, will be considered valid for Aadhaar-PAN linkage.
Aadhaar Card is a 12-digit unique identifying number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Indian government. It is commonly used to access government subsidies.
It is important to note that the PAN allotted to a person would become inoperative if it is not linked with Aadhaar by March 31, 2023.
