यह निर्णय राज्य के सभी विश्वविद्यालयों के कुलपतियों और शिक्षा विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की बैठक में लिया गया है और इसकी पुष्टि राज्यपाल राजेंद्र विश्वनाथ अर्लेकर द्वारा जारी बयान में की गई है।
इसका मतलब है कि अगले शैक्षणिक सत्र से बिहार के सभी राज्य विश्वविद्यालय चार वर्ष के पाठ्यक्रम को अपनाएंगे, जो कि चॉइस-बेस्ड क्रेडिट सिस्टम (CBCS) और सेमेस्टर प्रणाली पर आधारित होगा।
इससे पहले विश्वविद्यालय अपनी खुद की प्रवेश प्रक्रिया शुरू कर सकते हैं जो कि सीबीएससी और सेमेस्टर सिस्टम के लागू होने के पहले साल में होगी।
यह निर्णय राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 की अनुशंसा के बाद लिया गया है।
