He played for six MLB teams, but his longest tenure was with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Valenzuela is known for his impressive rookie season in 1981, where he caught the attention of fans when he pitched for the National League (NL) Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening game of the season and shut out the Houston Astros.
