In view of the prevailing harsh winter conditions in the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a winter vacation for all government and private schools in the valley.

- Up to Class 8th: November 28, 2023, to February 29, 2024
- Classes 9th to 12th: December 11, 2023 to February 29, 2024
The decision to announce early winter vacation has been taken due to the continuous temperature drop across the Kashmir Valley. The minimum temperature in Srinagar, the capital city, has been hovering around minus one degree Celsius, while other parts of the valley have experienced even colder temperatures.
