UPSC Notification 2024, Eligibility Criteria

UPSC CSE Educational Qualification

Below are the educational qualifications as per the official UPSC Notification 2024:

Minimum Requirement: Applicants must hold an equivalent degree or a degree from a university recognized by the government.
Final Year Candidates: The UPSC preliminary examination is open to candidates who are in their final year or who are awaiting their results. But in order to apply for the main IAS exam, documentation of completing the prerequisite exam must be included.
Professional and Technical Qualifications: Applicants may be considered if they possess professional and technical qualifications that the government has deemed to be on par with degrees.
Medical Students: Those who have finished their internship but are still enrolled in their last year of MBBS are eligible to apply for IAS. The application for the Main Examination must be submitted with a certificate of course completion, including internship.
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit as on 13/03/2024

The UPSC Commission notifies the UPSC exam age limit in the official notification. The age limit for the UPSC CSE 2024 must be calculated as of August 1, 2024. For the UPSC exam, the age limit is as follows:

As per the revised pay structure, the base pay for an officer joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or any other governmental service is INR 56,100/-.
